Welcome to the CDES PTO!
The Chapel District PTO is proud to work together with the teachers, our Principal Dr. Donmoyer and School Manager Mrs. Murdoch to organize activities and additional educational opportunities for our children. We are divided into committees to organize PTO events. We are always looking for parent volunteers willing to chair a committee or help with events. Please join us!
Our primary objective as a PTO is to provide our schools with funds, programs, resources and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child. To meet this important objective, and afford services that are no longer covered by our school budgets, we must fundraise. Though it may not be our favorite responsibility, it is a necessary one. PTO fundraising efforts are used to support many extra programs in the school. Some examples include: $600 per grade for field trips, assemblies and other cultural opportunities such as First Strings, Mosaic artwork project for 5th graders, and Poetry-In-Residence. Every teacher receives $150 for extra classroom supplies. We sponsor ice cream and pizza parties for classrooms. We also cover capital expenditures not funded in the school budget; past examples include a snow blower, mops and brooms, and gymnasium mats ($3100). The PTO fully supports Field Day by providing students with lunch and ribbons for their efforts. We also have a Special Needs & Hardship Fund available to those families identified that cannot afford some of the field trips and other fees. Also, this fund is available in times of excessive hardship to gather clothing, food & other necessary items.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
The PTO would like to thank everyone who made this year a success from the parents who volunteered at our events to the parents who participated in fundraisers! If you are interested in getting more involved with the PTO, there are a number of chair positions open for the upcoming year including, Field Day Chairperson, Variety Show Chairperson, Hospitality Chairperson, PTO Website, and Mother Son Fun Event. Please contact Melanie Chapple mellychapple@hotmail.com or Wendy Sauca swmmsauca@yahoo.com if you are interested in these positions.
FALL CARNIVAL: OCTOBER 1, 2011

Donations are needed for the kids raffle and silent auction - so, if you can provide a service or work for a company that would donate, please let us know as soon as possible! All donations are greatly appreciated no matter the size! Also, volunteers are always needed - whether it be at a carnival game, kitchen help, ticket sales, etc. - an hour of your time would mean so much! BUDGET INFORMATION
Chapel District PTO is excited to provide our newly updated website. Here is a copy of the 2011/2012 PTO budget. It has been requested to have access online to our budgetary goals to help our PTO members see all of the marvelous programs we support and better understand where our fundraising monies go. CDES PTO does alot of fantastic things for our students and school and we are working to provide a "user friendly" format to present this information. Our goal is to provide an up to date resource for parents and teachers to turn to for PTO and school related activities and programs. We welcome any input and feedback to make the website a valuable tool for all who visit it.
